Mother's Day 2012

It is a an honor, privilege and gift to be Clark's mama....and such a blessing that I have a wonderful mother myself to look up to!  We had a wonderful Mother's Day breakfast at home, brunch at my sisters house and then an early dinner with Brian's family.  It was a nice Sunday spending time celebrating all the mama's!

Baa-Berries!

Clark is in love with Strawberries or "Baa-berries" as he calls them.  He also loves Blueberries or "Buu-Berries".  So you can imagine his excitement when we took him to Hall Family Farm last weekend!  He was in high heaven picking those berries.  We thought he had gotten the hang of picking a berry and putting it in the basket because he was doing so well, then he came up with a new game: pick a berry and squeeze it in his hand, pick a berry and squeeze it in his hand.  Needless to say we quickly filled our basket and left the field to go enjoy some slushies!  It was a fun day!

Happy Birthday, Riley!

Sweet Riley Sullivan turned 1 and we drove to Wilmington to help her celebrate!  Riley's mama did an outstanding job planning the party, every pink little detail was perfect!  After the party was over, we stayed down at the beach for a few extra days...the kids had fun and I always enjoy catching up with my buddy!  Never a dull moment with toddlers in tow :)

We spent Easter at the beach and it was wonderful. We are thankful to be able to enjoy the coast as much as we do, there is nothing like the ocean! Clark kept everyone entertained and we loved every minute of being with the family.

Following Easter Sunday, Clark and I were thrilled to be joined by some of my college girlfriends and their babies! It was so wonderful to spend time together and see our children interact! We joke that even though we were at the beach for a week it isn't exactly "vacation" anymore, we are always on our toes with the kiddies! We did enjoy some downtime time during naptime and in the evenings though. Thank you, girls, for visiting!

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

As we prepare our hearts for Easter this weekend we also are having fun with some of the traditions that take place this time of year. Last year Clark was a tiny baby, it's fun to see him more active this year. He participated in his very first Easter egg hunt last week. Our playgroup held an egg hunt/picnic for the kids and it was an absolute blast!

Spring Forward!

This springlike weather and the recent time change makes us oh so happy! As much as I wanted to see a little snow this Winter I've since moved on and am now loving the green grass, bright days and Clark's new sleeping routine!

Just a few days shy of 14 months, Clark is all BOY! Climbing, running, picking up sticks, eating dirt..you know the typical! I caught him standing on the coffee table a couple weeks ago and just recently he opened the front door of our house and let himself out, thank goodness I heard him do so, I ran to his rescue and he took just a tiny fall (we've since started dead bolting the door). He says: bye bye, car, ball, mama, dada, cracker, uh-oh, cheese, turkey, and hi. Anything with wheels is a "car", anytime something falls on the ground or he falls he says "uh-oh". If someone grabs their keys or bag to leave he says "bye". There are definitely tantrums and hard days, but this age is so much fun!
