In the home stretch - 28 weeks

Pretty soon we will have a "little pumpkin" of our very own. I've made it to my third tri-mester and I'm ecstatic! Being pregnant has been a thrill no doubt, but I'm also very anxious to feel like myself again. I can hardly believe tomorrow marks the start of November. I went grocery shopping early this morning and they already had on Christmas music! The holidays are always a favorite time of year for me, but this year will be extra special as we continue to await the arrival of our baby!

1st Baby Shower

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the friends that I have. Leslie, Alice, Seantel and Caroline held such a wonderful baby shower for me on Saturday. From the food to decor and little special touches in between, it was just lovely. It was such an enjoyable afternoon with friends, grandmother's and aunts "to-be" all present. Thank you to everyone who made the trip and a big thank you to the girls for all their hardwork and for making it such a special day for me and baby!

It's Here! (Nursery Progress-Part 1)

After waiting 9 long weeks, our crib has finally arrived! I've been so excited to put together the crib and have our nursery begin to look like a nursery. It was delivered on Friday afternoon and Brian and I put it together that evening. Now that our walls are painted "baby blue" and the crib frame is screwed together tightly, it is becoming more and more real that soon we will have a little baby boy occupying this room. Stay tuned for Nursery Progress Part 2.

An Old Treasure

It has been so much fun sifting through the attic at my parents house and checking out all the "baby treasures" that they have held onto all these years. I am so thankful my mom saved those special items. One item in particular we are going to use is my grandmothers bassinet. My Gammy slept in this when she was a baby and it was also used for my dad when he was a baby. We hope our little one finds it a soothing sleeping place. Brian and I had fun restoring this a couple months ago, here are a few before and after photos.

Babies at the Ballgame

We've made it past the halfway point! I am currently 24 weeks and counting. It seems like I am growing daily - sometimes I even notice growth spurts within the same 24 hours. It is all very exciting, being pregnant, knowing our little boy is growing strong and preparing the nursery. We have cleaned out our guest room that will soon be the baby's room. Painting will start this week and the crib should arrive any day! Can you tell I'm in nesting mode? All I want to do is organize! I think I'm about to drive Brian insane, but he has been very patient and understanding (thank you hun).

Babies were all around at the ballgame yesterday. I seem to notice the children and pregnant "moms to-be" a lot more now. There were a couple of wolfpack babies next to our tailgate and we had our very own Baby Morrison on board along with Walker Yow. We missed Leighton Roberson this game, but look forward to her supporting the wolfpack in games to come!

Walker just turned 1 but is already a fan of Cornhole - watch out boys!

Mom, Dad and Jordan joined us for the tailgate as well. We just love that Jordy is State fan now too.

An exciting start to the season of Fall!

It's been a busy start to the season of Fall, but we are loving every minute of it.

At the beginning of last week one of my dear friends had her baby girl! We are so happy for the Roberson family of 3. Leighton Dare was born on Monday, September 20th. I have not met her yet, but from the pictures I've seen, she is just darlin'. Congrats to the Roberson's!

Secondly, the Yow's celebrated Walker's 1st birthday this past weekend. We have known Walker since he was born and just love being able to spend time with him and watch as he grows. It seems like just yesterday we were holding this sweet little boy in our arms as a newborn:

And finally, this past weekend we drove down to Atlanta to spend the weekend with the Sullivan's. We all met up for the GA Tech/NC State game. We haven't seen Logan and Matt since last April so the weekend was spent enjoying each other's company and cheering on the Pack (well,Brian and I were cheering on the Pack)! Thank you Matt and Logan for inviting us - it was a blast! We love ya'll!

Friday night we had a little reunion with Laura and Laurence - such a treat!

the boys in RED

It's here! Football season has arrived once again. On our drive up to Raleigh last Saturday Brian asked me "what in the world was better than gameday"?!? My immediate response was "nothing!" - I don't know why I didn't think harder about my answer, apparently I was just as thrilled for gameday as he was. We just love our boys in RED. Here are a few photos from the first gameday of 2010:
